The reasons that I joined the AGC; Simply put, I love to build, and I don't even fully understand why. Somewhere along my way, I discovered that the process of creating an idea, critiquing it so it works well, then planning with precision and bringing it into reality, was deeply rewarding. I am a builder at heart. I graduated from the Construction Management Program at BYU and had aspirations to build the most awesome buildings that anyone had ever seen. During my college years I worked any construction job I could find, I roofed, framed, and even spent one summer building what was then the Micron Project, which many might remember, it was a big deal at that time. After graduation, I started building homes and was working for Fieldstone as a superintendent, when September 11 of 2001 happened. I was downsized, and to make a long story short I started a new career in investments, and spent the next 16 years building wealth for others. I am still a builder at heart and find many of the planning and construction tools and theory to be similar. To be succinct, its like a professor taught me, "all buildings are really the same, you start in the dirt and keep adding on from there." Building wealth is the same way.
